FRAUDULENT JOB LISTING ALERT

October 24, 2011

ACCO Brands has recently become aware of an employment opportunity scam that has surfaced on Craigslist claiming to offer jobs with ACCO Brands. Scammers are posting fake advertisements for employment opportunities for Data Entry Clerk positions in regions across North America. Unauthorized individuals (scammers) have been sending out fake employment offers and other bogus recruitment materials using the ACCO Brands name in an attempt to defraud would-be job seekers. These individuals pose as ACCO Brands human resources personnel, make contact with people via Craigslist, and conduct online interviews resulting in a fake job offer. Under the guise of initiating job training, the job applicant is asked to purchase software and other supplies through a “preferred provider” by either making direct payment or accepting a (fake) check for deposit into their personal account, with the proceeds to be sent to the software provider. The scammer hopes to receive the payment before it is discovered that the check is fraudulent.

ACCO Brands is in no way associated with this process. The jobs are not real and our name and trademarks are used without permission. ACCO Brands disclaims all liability in connection with these unauthorized activities.

On-line communication on recruitment from ACCO Brands, if any, would be sent by ACCO Brands personnel using only the following email domains:
  1. acco.com
  2. gbc.com
